In December, the renowned Ukrainian singer Yurii Godo will be giving several opera concerts in Welcome app municipalities. These special performances are part of a charity tour aimed at raising funds for Ukrainian orphaned children. Yurii Godo will perform on December 7th in Dordrecht, December 8th in Venlo, and December 11th in Leiden.
Yurii Godo is known for his performances at venues such as Teatro Real in Madrid, Carnegie Hall in New York, and Notre Dame de Paris, and he holds numerous titles and awards. The evening’s repertoire includes masterpieces from various cultures, such as Schubert’s “Ave Maria,” Franck’s “Panis Angelicus,” world songs, and atmospheric Ukrainian Christmas carols.
The entrance to the concert is free, and visitors are asked to make a donation. The proceeds from the concert will go to the ‘Association for Support of Ukrainian Orphans,’ providing assistance to 1100 orphaned children from the Zaporizhzhya region in Ukraine. Additionally, the organization is appealing for donations of laptops and musical instruments so that the children can take music lessons.
