What is Welcome app?

Imagine this: you’re trying to build a new life in a foreign country – from scratch. Where do you start? Information is not easily accessible, you don’t speak the language yet and you don’t know how to connect with new people. Many newcomers to the Netherlands face this challenge.

Welcome app makes building a new life easier. We do this by making relevant information, activities, services and local organizations accessible in one place: the Welcome app. In this way, we support municipalities in carrying out their tasks effectively and offer organizations a platform to reach newcomers. Our technology supports integration, participation, self-direction and equal access to opportunities.

We work on behalf of municipalities (currently 5) and our plan in the coming years is to expand to all Dutch municipalities and beyond: we also have international ambitions in the coming years.
To support this growth we are now looking for a Go-to-Market Manager.

Who are we looking for?

As Go-to-Market Manager you are ultimately responsible for the successful marketing and scaling up of our proposition. You play a strategic leadership role within the Management Team of Welcome app, directly managing a team of young sales and marketing professionals.

You will develop and implement the overarching go-to-market strategy, ensuring that our brand positioning, marketing efforts and commercial activities are seamlessly aligned. You are both a strategic thinker and hands-on leader, and know how to translate marketing and sales into measurable impact and growth.

You’ll work closely with the CEO, product team and external partners to ensure that we not only grow, but that we do so while maintaining our mission, culture and quality.

What will you do?

  • Lead go-to-market team: You will coach and inspire our young team of sales and marketing professionals to work together to achieve our growth goals.
  • Develop and execute GTM strategy: You will develop the entire customer journey – from awareness to onboarding – and ensure that all marketing and sales activities contribute to our goals.
  • Sales leadership & business development: You’ll drive our sales efforts, make your own calls to potential municipalities and partners, and close strategic deals.
  • Brand & thought leadership: You will ensure consistent and powerful positioning of Welcome app as a thought leader at the intersection of integration and technology.
  • Customer relations and retention: You will ensure structural customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships with municipalities and community organizations.
  • Reporting & driving data: You will monitor performance through CRM and other tools, adjust where necessary and report to the MT.

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in a commercial or strategic role within a fast-growing (tech or impact) organization.
  • Demonstrated experience developing GTM strategies and/or sales leadership.
  • Experience end-to-end managing complex or enterprise sales cycles – from prospecting to closing – including carrying revenue responsibility (quota carrying).
  • Leadership experience: you have managed teams or coached professionals.
  • Combination of analytical and creative thinking skills: you switch smoothly between strategy and operations.
  • Organizationally sensitive and able to communicate effectively with public partners.
  • Empathy for the challenges of our target group and a strong social drive.
  • Strong command of Dutch and English, both verbal and written.

Desired:

  • Experience with decision-making in the public sector (e.g., municipalities).
  • Knowledge of sales best practices and methodologies such as MEDDPICC is a strong plus.
  • Affinity for technology and social innovation.
  • Shared or lived experience with migration, newcomer or inclusion issues.

What we offer:

  • Start date: preferably May 2024 (earlier/later in consultation)
  • Full-time role (minimum 32 hours/week)
  • Salary between €5000 – €6500 gross/month (depending on experience)
