What is Welcome app?
Imagine this: you are trying to build a new life in a foreign country. Where do you start? Information is not easily accessible, you don’t speak the language yet and don’t know how to meet new people. Many newcomers to the Netherlands face this challenge.
Welcome app makes building your new life easier. We provide a platform that makes relevant information, activities, services and local organizations accessible in one place: Welcome app. Currently we are working for six municipalities: Almere, Den Bosch, Horst aan de Maas, Leiden, Oegstgeest and Venlo, and we have ambitious plans to expand to 65 Dutch municipalities in the next three years, with international ambitions.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Growth & Engagement Marketer with the following attributes:
- Experience and interest in marketing, with a focus on app engagement and activation of app users.
- Proactive, independent and accurate.
- Creative insight and the ability to create engaging and targeted content.
- Experience creating both offline and online content, both text and visuals, using tools such as Canva.
- You know exactly how to effectively use online communication channels such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram to reach our target audience on the platforms they prefer to use.
What will you do?
- Social media and content creation: You will create and manage our social media posts (IG + FB) to engage newcomers with the app, in line with our brand guidelines and tone of voice. You also think of creative ways to reach younger newcomers, for example through TikTok.
- Manage community channels: You keep newcomers actively engaged through platforms such as Telegram, WhatsApp and Facebook groups.
- Influencer marketing: Identify and approach influencers and set up collaborations.
- In-app activation: Setting up personalized onboarding, including push notifications.
- Help desk and user support: Assisting newcomers through the help desk and ensuring a perfect user experience.
- Data analysis and reporting: Monitoring marketing data, analyzing activation campaigns and helps improve our visibility and user engagement, including optimizing ASO (SEO for apps).
What we offer

- A salary of €15.00 gross per hour, plus 8% vacation allowance.
