Wat is Welcome app?
Imagine this: you’re trying to build a new life in a foreign country – from scratch. Where do you start? Information is not easily accessible, you don’t speak the language yet, and you don’t know how to connect with new people. Many newcomers in the Netherlands face this challenge.
Welcome app makes building your new life easier. We do this by making relevant information, activities, services, and local organizations accessible in one place: the Welcome app. This supports municipalities in effectively carrying out their duties and gives organizations a platform to reach newcomers. Our technology fosters integration, participation, self-direction, and equal access to opportunities.
We Partner with a Wide Range of Stakeholders: Municipalities, Companies, and Other (Social) Organizations. At present, we collaborate with seven municipalities: Almere, Den Bosch, Dordrecht, Horst aan de Maas, Leiden, Oegstgeest, and Venlo. Our aim is to grow to 65 municipalities in the Netherlands within the next three years, and we also have plans for international expansion.
What Will You Be Responsible For?
- Team Leadership and Development: Guide, motivate, and nurture the growth of the project coordinators and community builders, prioritizing the personal development of each team member.
- Enhancing Our Processes: Create standard operating procedures for project delivery and customer success, focused on improving efficiency and effectiveness. Your best practices will be invaluable in this process.
- Monitoring and Implementing Strategic Objectives: Ensure the strategic goals are met across various projects in municipalities. You will use data to track progress and inform decision-making.
- Maintaining Relationships with Municipalities: Actively manage relationships with municipalities, our key clients, through monthly updates and quarterly evaluations on project progress and outcomes
- Strengthening Strategic Partnerships: Manage and enhance strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Budget Oversight: Develop, oversee, and track the operations budget.
- Monitoring Trends and Changes: Stay informed about trends, political developments, and sector changes that may affect the Welcome app, and translate these insights into strategic recommendations and adjustments to our programs.
What Are We Looking For?
- You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit, government, or social sector.
- You are a natural project manager who thrives on optimizing processes for greater efficiency.
- You are an empathetic communicator with a genuine passion for the people in your team and your clients.
- You can lead a team effectively and assist them in prioritizing tasks when faced with multiple challenges.
- You are self-sufficient, proactive, and pragmatic, able to identify what needs to be done and take immediate action, while also understanding the limits of what can be achieved at once.
- You have experience managing budgets and financial accountability.
- You bring a positive, energetic presence that inspires others.
- You speak fluently Dutch.
- You speak good English.
- You are passionate about integration and have a connection to our field of work.
